Most Proud Project
Pick the project that best shows your judgment and impact, and tell it in about three minutes with your decisions, trade-offs and results.
Overview
'Tell me about the project you are most proud of' is the most open question in the loop. You choose the story, so the interviewer learns as much from your choice as from the answer. It tests technical depth, ownership, judgment and whether you can explain hard work simply.
The interviewer listens for what you decided, not what the team built. They will dig into one or two decisions: why this design, what else you considered, what went wrong. A project you only contributed to falls apart under that questioning.
Pride also says something about your values. A story proud of a clever hack reads differently from one proud of a hard trade-off, a rescued launch or a teammate who grew. Pick the one that matches the role.
- Ownership — 'I decided', with the reasons — 'We built', with no clear role
- Depth — Can explain two decisions and the options dropped — Stays at the feature list
- Impact — A number before and after, and who it helped — 'Users loved it'
- Difficulty — A real obstacle and how you got past it — Everything went to plan
- Reflection — What you would do differently — Nothing to improve
